Ahhh, poop, part II

This is part II in the never ending saga... click here for part I:

So... today I was feeding the babies their lunch while Alex was taking a bath. After he was playing happily for ten minutes or so he says,

"Mom! I pooped in the bathtub!"

Me: "What? You did WHAT?"

Alex: "I pooped in the bathtub! I can't get it all out. Will you come help me!"

So I walk in there (leaving screaming babies because I just stopped shoveling food into their ravenous mouths) and he's got four nice little logs, lined up in a row on the washcloth that's hanging on the edge of the bathtub. YUCK. And of course the rest that he can't "get out" was floating all around in little small pieces. Double yuck. So... I stayed amazingly calm, and explained that we only go to the bathroom in the toilet or his diaper. We cleaned up the mess, disinfected, put the bath toys in the dishwasher for a nice hot wash, and started a new bath.

Later, when we were in the kitchen he said to me:

"Mom, I'm gonna tell Jesus sorry for pooping in the tub."

Me: "Okay, sweety. That's a good idea."

Alex: (quietly, under his breath so I could barely hear) "Jesus? Sorry about pooping in the tub. But it was hurting my belly, so I HAD to do it. Okay?"

heh heh heh... 'atta boy!

President Hinckley

Wow... shock. I knew this day had to be coming, but I really expected President Hinckley to be around well past 100. I have very mixed emotions. He was a wonderful man, an incredible leader, and the most positive role model. I will miss him and his humour, his raspy voice, his words of wisdom, his drive and optimism. However, I'm so happy that he's now with his beloved Marjorie again. Well done, President Hinckley. Thank you for your example. You will be missed, terribly.

My boy...

Alex: independent yet totally dependent, "terrible threes," smart as a whip, huge vocabulary, a tease, silly walk, leg hugs, skwudges, "I love you, mommy," dictator, "you say...," extremely shy, imagination, construction vehicles, books and the library, guys, cousins, still a binky boy, cloths, cloths and more cloths, hide-and-seek, daddy's buddy, mommy's snuggler, grateful ("Thanks so much for doing my laundry, mommy."), my boy...

My babies...

Andrew: Pensive, serious, drawn to light, sings himself to sleep, big hands and feet, clean eater, lots of hair, contagious giggle, pattycake, loves sippy cups, rolls everywhere, hates crowds, loves cheek-to-cheek, super sensitive.

Jackson: Laughs, laughs, and more laughs, smears crackers everywhere, has a temper, will smile at anything, loves peek-a-boo, wiggly, small fingernails, wiggly, great dexterity, wiggly, sit-ups (crunches), snuggles his cloth, binky-boy, happy.

To blog or not to blog...?

That is the question. And I'm not sure of my answer. After I talked to a dear friend, I realized that this blogging thing is messing with my mind. (Thanks, Kristy) I'm becoming a person that I totally despise. As I link on friends of friends blog sites, I find myself totally absorbed into complete strangers' lives. Problem is, I totally compare my life with these total strangers, and THAT is what's buggin' me. I look at their houses and think, "My goodness, why can't I have a granite countertop and gourmet kitchen?" Or, "Why am I such a crappy mom that I don't have fun crafts and outings for my kids?" Or, "Why am I so uncreative that I don't make homemade gifts and quilt beautiful quilts?" etc. etc... Anyway, it's ridiculous, yes. But true, nonetheless. So... I think I'm gonna lay low on the blogging for a while. Instead of my daily indulgence on the computer, I'm gonna try to spend more attention on my kids (novel idea for a SAHM) and maybe squeak in a conference talk or two.

So... that said, I'm officially announcing a boring blog site. I will put up personal updates for my own record, but they'll be less tailored to the reader, and more specific for my personal records. (Such as, Andrew got his first two bottom teeth on Dec. 14th and 17th.)

So, signing out for now....
